Ooh! That's bad. Very bad. Chigaimasho!! (that's probably not right.) Cheating on a katakana exam...you might have to go outside and do exercises for the whole day. That's what they used to make me do when I was little and misbehaved at Japanese school. And look how little I ended up learning...
yeah, the fact that he wrote it up-side down so he could be a self-reference shows the amount of effort he went through. he probably ended up learning it quite well in the process. i suppose one could just write vocab and notes on themselves and function quite well abroad.
