every day that junko has work, i go with her to Shinjuku, and the plan is that i meet her outside her work 8.5 hours later. now the best way for me to actually be there 8.5 hours later, is to not move from that spot at all.
the next best way is to set out by foot and keep the tallest building in tokyo, the tmg, in sight. that way i can always navigate my way back. i can go further, but it had better be in straight lines.
anyhow, there is a large park under the tmg (you can see a corner of it from the shot taken from floor 45 of the tmg a few posts below) where i have been spending the morning rush hour. the park is populated by pigeons, homeless people and the grounds-keeping crew, who proudly stride as a team to their office shack for their morning rallying pep-talk. they look like a rag-tag astronaut crew, walking to the launch pad.
i enjoy these mornings, and had the chance to write a short musical bit about them while i went from coffee shop to coffee shop to keep out of the rain today.
you can click here to listen to the track, or even download it! i hope you enjoy it.

wow, that's a and b the c of d... awesome, slice.
Someone tell those astronauts and pidgeons in the back to keep it down.
Wow. You've come along way since our "drachma" days. This was very enjoyable to listen to.
thanks for the feedback guys. i almost took a picture of the grounds-keeping crew today as they walked through, but they came with a bunch of cops and they were roughing up the homeless guys... (well, politely roughing them up). i just thought it was best to go hang out somewhere else. with the clothes i brought, i totally fit in with the homeless people.
good job keeping grung alive
